Beautiful sculptured sterling silver earrings of a cute baby turtle breaking out of its shell. The satin finish shell contrasts nicely against the high polished areas in this design. Turtle eggs take about two months to incubate. When ready to hatch, the baby turtles are able to break through the egg by chipping away at the shell with a structure called an egg tooth, a temporary hard structure on their beaks. The tiny one-ounce turtles then take a number of days to dig their way out of their nest at which time they instinctively crawl towards the open sea.
